Prayers Answered

Three men are lost in the woods.  They come to a mighty river that blocks their way.  On the other side in the distance they see a city and salvation.  They pray and pray for a way to get to the city.  Suddenly a voice booms down from heaven, I will grant your prayers, what do you wish.

The first man prays fro the strength to swim across the river.  He gains the strength, jumps in the river and swims.  He is buffeted by the mighty current but eventually makes his way across beaten and weary. 


The second man prays for a raft to cross with.  The raft appears, he pushes off into the water and is capsized by the mighty current.  He pushes and strains and eventually makes his way top the other shore where he drags himself onto land and passes out.

The third man prays for the wisdom and intelligence to cross the river, God immediately turns him into a woman.  She reads the map, walks 500 feet upstream and crosses over on the bridge.
